Kedir & Esmael Hassan - Hambela Buliye, Kebele Dari Bishan Fugu, Guji Zone - Natural Process Ethiopia

This Natural lot comes from Hambela Buliye, in the Guji coffee-growing area of southern Ethiopia, managed by Kedir and Esmael Hassan. They source coffees from 200 Guji farmers, including their own Buliye farm and coffee from the surrounding kebeles; Buliye, Wamana, Borticha, Dari Rogicha and Dabaye. Hambela Buliye only produces natural coffees, making them experts at this craft. 

This expertise led them to build their drying beds where there is not much sun, providing longer and more even drying for around 3-4 weeks, providing strong fruity sweetness with rounded acidity. Combined with the genetic diversity of Ethiopian coffee and high elevations, this coffee is unique in so many different facets.

I taste:
Bold and bright fruity aromas jump from the cup, stewed blueberries and warm herbal tea mix to create a beautiful honeyed aroma. On palate, this is super dynamic. Right after sipping you get hit with intense fruity sweetness ALMOST leaning into ferment but it gets pulled back on the mid palate with florality and clean citrus. As the cup cools, expect sangria and blueberry sorbet.
