Marlon Bolaños - Pink Bourbon Honey

Marlon Bolaños is a young and inspired coffee producer; transforming coffee on his family farm from an economic necessity to a refined and flourishing project that I am proud to support. 

Early in his life, Marlon enrolled in coffee courses at SENA where he learned green coffee evaluation, sensory skills and he developed a new vision for what coffee on La Loma could be.

Marlon now calls his project The Three Coffee Farmers, after his two brothers and himself, who run the farm together. For the past several years, they’ve been cultivating higher quality varietals like gesha, Sidra, chiroso, and pink bourbon. Marlon also retooled their processing methods, employing some of the most meticulous and sophisticated methods I’ve seen. This pink bourbon honey process is no exception.

We taste:

Unique and subtle jasmine and white tea notes jump from the cup complimented by vanilla and honeysuckle aromas. First sip shows honeyed fruit and lavender flavors cooling into sweet mint and pink lemonade. Fresh fruit flavors peek through like raspberry, bing cherry and honeydew melon.
