Ejegayehu Bekele - Odo Shakiso, Guji - Washed Process Ethiopia

This washed lot comes from Shakiso, in the Guji coffee-growing area of southern Ethiopia, and was produced by Ejegayehu Bekele, who, a coffee farmer himself, sources cherry from 120 smallholder farmers.

This coffee is exceptional both in its flavor profile and processing. This is a loud expression of Ethiopian coffee that presents as intense fruity character, leaning into stone fruit and away from citrus. This coffee plays in so many realms typical to Ethiopia that are almost never present together. Such an exciting coffee!

I taste:
Vibrant and expressive acidity and sweetness presenting as nectarine, cantaloupe and mango. There is a gentle white tea note that is nearly overwhelmed by candied orange and dried apricot sweetness.
