Damarli Estate - Plot 11 Daylot #1 - Panama Gesha - Natural 120g

Damarli Estate is a historied and quietly excellent farm in Boquete, Panama. They have been coffee farmers for several generations and retooled their farm in the early 2010s to shift from commodity to specialty and have been quietly building an amazing operation.

Here, all electricity is completely solar powered and they have implemented amazingly precise farming practices to produce a clean, washed type of process through a mix of natural, anaerobic slow drying and yeast inoculation. Innovarion is at the heart of what Damarli stands for and it shows in the cup.

This year Damarli Estate entered coffee from this plot, Plot 11, in the BoP competition and came away with 15th place and a cup score of 92.19. This is an incredible feat and goes to show the intense competition within Panama specialty. 

I taste:
Layers upon layers of florals; magnolia, jasmine and marigolds. This is complimented by gentle tropical fruit notes of cherimoya, papaya and honeydew melon with a persistent note of silver needle white tea, persistent in sweetness and aftertaste. It is truly a gorgeous and layered cup that would be a shame to miss!
